Abstract

Nowadays, the quality of the environment in urban spaces has become a controversial issue, which has been discussed in various researches as a response to many recent problems of cities. Considering its tangible and intangible features, this issue has become one of the main concerns of every society. The aim of the current research is to analyze the spatial quality of the environment of Mashhad using the multi-criteria decision-making approach (MCE) and the ordered weighted average (OWA) technique. In this study, research indicators including vegetation cover, air pollution, surface temperature, population density, marginalization rate, vulnerability of buildings, distance water network coverage and noise pollution were combined using Arc GIS and TerrSet software. . The ordered weighted average method by re-weighting the criteria reduces the errors of combining the initial weighting of the criteria with the weighting method (AHP) and by adjusting the coefficients in different alphas, a set of decision scenarios is available to the decision makers. to give The results of the research show that in the most optimistic state (high risk tolerance) and the most pessimistic state (low risk tolerance) in the northeastern regions of Mashhad, regions 3, 4, 5 and 6 have a low quality environment. According to the conditions of urban management and the scenario proposed by the research, 15% of the size of Mashhad, which is in the category of very low and low quality in the classification of the research, needs the special attention of city managers to improve the quality of environmental indicators.
