Abstract

the development of this industry in Kerman province does not match the existing capabilities. The results of some recent researches are proof of this claim. The current research was conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing the barriers to tourism development in Kerman province from the point of view of private and public sector experts.The current research was conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing the barriers to tourism development in Kerman province from the point of view of private and public sector experts. The statistical population includes experts from the public and private sectors who are familiar with tourism issues in Kerman province. First, the most important main barriers to tourism development were identified using theoretical foundations in four general categories, including infrastructure barriers, marketing barriers, socio-cultural barriers, and administrative and structural barriers. And 20 sub-criteria were determined for these barriers. In this way, the hierarchy of the decision tree was designed. Then, based on the opinion of experts and with the method of hierarchical data analysis, the barriers to tourism development in the province have been prioritized. From the point of view of the studied community, the priority of the mentioned barriers is, respectively; Infrastructure obstacles with a weight of 0.297, marketing barriers with a weight of 0.257, socio-cultural barriers with a weight of 0.235, and managerial and structural barriers with a weight of 0.214. The weakness of hotel and restaurant services with a weight of 0.175 ranks first among the following criteria. Inadequate use of the provincial network to introduce attractions with a weight of 0.105 in the second priority and public ignorance of the benefits of tourism with a weight of 0.091 has won the third priority among the sub-criteria.
