Today, the discussion of immigration and social mobility of people in the social scale of the host country and its related issues is of great importance in urban planning, and it is important because the structural inequalities of society will not be known without studying social mobility, and one of the issues that immigrants They face it is intergenerational social mobility, the aim of the present study is to evaluate the relationship between background variables and intergenerational social mobility of Afghan immigrants in Kashan city. The research-descriptive method is analytical, the sample size was calculated using Sample Power software with a confidence level of 95% and a possible error of 5% of 150 people from the population of 20,000 Afghan immigrants in Kashan city. SPSS and AMOS software were used for descriptive and inferential data analysis and structural equation modeling. The results showed that there is a significant relationship of 0.84 between background variables and intergenerational mobility indicators of Afghan immigrants in Kashan city. Among the contextual variables, the factor of education has the highest factor load with a weight of 0.60, and among the indicators of intergenerational mobility, the factor of institutionalized cultural capital has the highest factor load with a weight of 0.98, and the factors of embodied and objectified cultural capital jointly with a factor load of 0.84, and social trust and fatalism factors are ranked next with factor loads of 0.30 and 0.24. Therefore, after a more detailed analysis of the mentioned indicators, the amount of reading books, the amount of familiarity with foreign languages, doing sports, everyone trying to achieve what they want in the intergenerational mobility of Afghan immigrants in the city of Kashan was recognized.
