Abstract

Abstract

Cityscapes encapsulate both tangible and intangible features of the environment. Understanding and comprehending the complex system of aesthetics and environmental features is established upon the interaction between humans and their surroundings. In urban spaces, this interaction holds special importance as the epicenter of functional convergence. Given the strategic location of SabzeMeydan in the historical and cultural realm of the city, coupled with its convenient accessibility, the examination and evaluation of its environmental features and aesthetics have garnered attention.

The method employed in this research is descriptive-analytical. To assess and analyze the influential components in the aesthetics of the landscape of SabzeMeydan in the city of Qazvin, a set of 25 identified components in both tangible and mental dimensions was examined and confirmed through the Delphi method with the participation of 20 experts. Subsequently, the weighting of the components was conducted using the Shannon entropy method, and through the TOPSIS multi-criteria decision-making model, the components were ranked and evaluated. As a result, "vitality," "accessibility," "sense of place," "sensory richness," "collective memories," and "authenticity and identity" were identified and ranked as the most important components. Mental components hold the highest degree of importance in the aesthetic perspective of the landscape. In the aesthetic viewpoint of the landscape, tangible components are also crucial as constitutive elements forming the foundation of SabzeMeydan's landscape in Qazvin. Therefore, in the perception and evaluation process of the SabzeMeydan landscape, both tangible and mental dimensions coexist complementarily.
