Abstract
In recent years, the global community's efforts to achieve an optimal model of urban life have resulted in the presentation of an urban prosperity model.Cities in developed countries are trying to achieve the indicators related to the six urban prosperity criteria to push their cities towards prosperity, while the conditions in cities in developing countries are different.Transparency, trust, participation, and rule of law are lacking in cities in developing countries, while cities in developed countries are trying to achieve the indicators related to these six criteria to lead their cities towards prosperity. Prosperity, as a symbol of development, is an intelligent movement that affects the corners of the urban system. Prosperity has indicators that, according to many researchers, have a significant impact on the sustainability of cities. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating urban prosperity indicators in Mashhad. The statistical population of the study is the residents of districts four, nine, and eleven of Mashhad, with a sample size of 384 people determined based on the Cochran formula. After completing the questionnaires, data were analyzed using one-sample t-test, Friedman test, and chi-square test in SPSS software. The results show that urban prosperity indicators in region four are in an unfavorable state, and regions nine and eleven are evaluated in a more favorable state, respectively. This spatial difference and spatial differentiation in urban areas of Mashhad indicate an imbalance in urban prosperity in the spatial system of Mashhad. Among the indicators studied, the productivity index is not in a favorable state in all three regions. Therefore, it is suggested that the employment situation, unemployment rate, and income deficiency be given serious attention in order to support and promote urban prosperity
