The neighborhood plays a prominent role in social integration, because good neighborhood relations help to create effective social networks and form social connections (Ruan et al, 2023). One of the problems in the neighborhood's urban regeneration process is the lack of social integration (Jin, 2022). In addition, there is a need for greater social integration in the urban regeneration process of a neighborhood that involves the local community in planning and decision-making. Urban regeneration at the neighborhood level can have a positive impact on the quality of life and creating social cohesion and integration.

This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the effective factors on the urban regeneration pattern of Briyank neighborhood and also investigating the mediating role of social integration in this pattern. The results of this research show that the three variables of participation, social connection and justice and equality directly affect the urban regeneration process of Briyank neighborhood and the increase of these variables in the neighborhood can lead to the success of the urban regeneration projects of this neighborhood. The results obtained from the bootstrap show that social integration partially has a positive mediating effect on participation with P=0.006, social connection with P=0.017 and justice and equality with P=0.004 in the urban regeneration process of Briyank neighborhood. These results show that the variables of participation, social connection and justice and equality will directly affect the pattern of urban regeneration of the neighborhood; But if there is social integration in the neighborhood, the partial effect of the presence of a mediator will facilitate the participation of residents, establish better social relations with each other, and increase the probability of establishing justice and equality in the urban regeneration process of Briyank neighborhood.
