Abstract
Urban vitality is a crucial element in the quality of life of citizens and the dynamism of urban spaces throughout different times of day and night. In this context, the present study aims to assess and compare the state of urban vitality across the four districts of Yasuj City based on specific examined components. This research is applied in nature and relies on a questionnaire-based method, evaluating urban vitality. Data were collected through documentary studies and a field survey, which included 384 questionnaires designed based on six main components of urban vitality. The data were then analyzed using SPSS and PLS software. The findings reveal significant differences in the level of urban vitality among these districts. These differences are evident not only in the overall vitality index but also across each of its dimensions. They primarily stem from the city’s physical structure and the concentration of services in the central district, and are further reinforced by unequal population distribution, functional diversity, and varying levels of opportunities for civic participation. District 2 demonstrates the highest vitality due to its spatial and functional advantages, including diverse land uses, concentrated service and recreational centers, and favorable accessibility- factors that foster vibrant social interaction and active citizen presence. In contrast, peripheral areas, especially District 4, face major challenges regarding vitality, largely due to a lack of amenities, weak infrastructure, poorly designed public spaces, and insufficient land use diversity. Overall, the study highlights the need to reconsider spatial policies and ensure a balanced distribution of resources in future urban planning efforts in Yasuj, to enhance the level of vitality across all districts of the city.
