Abstract
In recent decades, migration to cities and metropolises has increased. On the one hand, this has led to the emergence of urban phenomena and urbanization, and on the other hand, due to the lack of coordinated and planned policies, it has created a problem called segregation in urban neighborhoods, which has resulted in the separation of different population groups. This issue can reduce the socio-economic interactions of residents of surrounding neighborhoods, reduce the investment sector for the development of these contexts, change the attitude of most citizens towards choosing their residential space, and create many problems for residents of the aforementioned context. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to measure the level of social spatial segregation of educational and occupational groups in the city of Naqadeh. The research method is quantitative and its approach is descriptive-analytical. The data used in this study were provided by the Statistical Center of Iran and are related to the 2011 census of Naqadeh. The required data was analyzed in the form of a map using the geographic information system, GeoDa software, and spatial segregation analysis. For this purpose, the degree of single-group segregation between the upper, middle, and lower classes of the city was first measured. The results of the single-group findings based on the spatial coefficient map analysis showed that the low base in the south and southwest, the middle base in the south and southeast, and the high base in the northeast and east have the highest segregation. Based on the findings from the city center, the issue of low-density household density, which is discussed in Western countries, is seen in the city of Naqadeh.
